VOLUNTEER POSITIONS OVERVIEW

The following descriptions give a short overview of each unpaid, volunteer position and responsibilities.

Board Director –
As a Board member you represent the Garden of Innocence to the public. You must be passionate about our mission, goals, values, and beliefs. It helps to have some high-level, decision-making experience and some experience serving on a Board or with a non-profit organization. Board positions are volunteer and unpaid. The Board meets quarterly in the Poway area.

Member-at-Large -  These volunteers provide advice on how to best implement the vision and mission of the organization to protect it's viability and non-profit status in to the future.  This position has no voting power but input and perspective on topics and motions under discussion at board meetings is expected. Attendance of at least one-half of all scheduled board meetings in a calendar year is required to remain a member-at-large.  This position is preparation for being invited to a Board position.  Come to a board meeting and make your request for this position.

Treasurer – Maintain the bank account for the Garden of Innocence using Quicken. Less than 6 checks are written by the garden each month. No tax prep is required. Treasurer is notified of checks written and deposits made to maintain the balance. Balance the checkbook monthly and submit treasurer report for each Board Meeting.
