Garden of Innocence Receives Donation from Local Foundation

Michael Bravo Lopez, President of the Guadalupe Fund, a Charitable Family Foundation in Vista, presents a donation check to Elissa Davey, also a Vista resident & founder of Garden of Innocence of San Diego County.  With them is Larry Campitiello, State Assistant Program Director of the Knights of Columbus.

Mr. Lopez first heard about the Garden of Innocence, which provides dignified burials for abandoned children here in San Diego, through a conversation at a Christmas party.  Attendees told Mr. Lopez that Mr. Campitiello was going to be late to the party as he was attending a service for Baby Nicholas, at Garden of Innocence. Mr. Campitiello finally arrived at the party and shared his involvement in Garden of Innocence. He explained that the Knights of Columbus provide a full color guard to add dignity to each baby interred in Garden of Innocence and it is the knights mission to attend every single service.

Mr. Lopez, was so inspired by the plight of these children and the wonderful service that Garden of Innocence is providing for the babies of San Diego County that he was immediately compelled to offer a donation to Garden of Innocence from his organization, The Guadalupe Foundation.

Mr. Lopez is hoping that the gift from The Guadalupe Foundation will encourage other organizations to donate to this worthy cause and reach out to these children in a final effort of caring, making sure no child leaves this life without someone knowing they were once here.
